ABSTRACT
The article provides an overview on the result of A.M. Best Co.'s annual review of the auditor and actuarial markets in the U.S. It indicates that the market for actuarial firms remained dominant, with more insurers using external actuaries in 2008. It also found that 259 independent accounting firms provided annual audits for 3,652 insurers.
