ABSTRACT
The article reports on the acquisition of ZeroG Wireless Inc., a semiconductor developer of Wireless Fidelity (Wi-Fi)-certified transceivers, by Microchip Technology Inc. in the U.S. According to Microchip Technology executive Steve Caldwell, the acquisition provides the company's customers embedded applications with Wi-Fi capability. It mentions that Microchip Technology has strengthened its wireless offerings by embedding into ZeroG 8, 16, or 32-bit PIC Wi-Fi technology.
