The article highlights the study of Government Accountability Office (GAO) which examines the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) filing season in processing tax returns, refunds and taxpayer questions in the U.S. It states that the efforts on IRS to ensure compliance starts during the filing season. Meanwhile, the GAO was asked to assess the compliance IRS's 2009 filing season performance.
