ABSTRACT
The article reports on the opportunities seen by network executives in the forefront of comedy and a backlash against reality shows as networks emerge in the U.S. It shows that cable programmers still offers escapism for relief in spite on the continuing economic downturn. Also, a number of cable networks will have a small presence of genre expansion as Comedy Central makes a push on more traditional sitcoms. Further, it notes that 2010 will have its biggest push on scripted comedy.
