ABSTRACT
The article reports on the plan of the University of Liverpool in England and the British Veterinary Orthopaedic Association (BVOA) to develop a national registry to record data on dogs that undergo hip replacement operations. It states that such registry could help provide long-term information about the advantages and disadvantages of different designs of replacement hips. It adds that the planned register will be used to collect and analyse data on the performance of replacement hips.
