Open Access and the Digital Divide: An Overview in CIS Libraries

The article focuses on the analysis of digital libraries and the implementation of open access initiatives by Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS). Most CIS countries have implemented digital initiatives to allow its citizens to have an access to trustworthy and diverse information. Digital initiatives have been used to supplement the insufficient funding provided by the government for the operation of libraries.
