ABSTRACT
The article discusses reports from the Veronis Suhler Stevenson (VSS) and Outsell Inc. on the advertising and marketing spending in 2009 and offer information on what areas will improve in the coming years. The VSS report predicts that there will be a decline of 1% to 882.6 billion U.S. dollars in the total communication spending in 2009, but it will grow over the next five years. It cites that Outsell's survey shows that most companies will decrease their advertising spending and that a economic recovery will not bring about an advertising recovery.
