ABSTRACT
The article focuses on the proposal by the Indian government to reduce carbon intensity by 20 to 25 percent by 2020. According to sources, China's proposal to reduce its carbon intensity by 40 to 45% put increased pressure on India to create its own proposal before the start of the Copenhagen summit. It has been concluded by the Indian Environment Ministry that the country's emissions could range from four to 7.3 billion metric tons by 2030.
