ABSTRACT
This article discusses the importance of humor, how it develops, and ways to help children develop cheerfulness through reading. The authors suggest that parents choose books and rhymes that are appropriate for a child's age and intellectual abilities. The article presents several suggested book titles, including Denise Fleming's "Barnyard Banter," Jules Feiffer's "Bark, George," and Virginia Walter's "Hi, Pizza Man."
