Morale issues are major challenge when jobs change

This article discusses the importance of employee morale in implementing a successful clinical research (CR) unit merger. It notes that the attitudes and work habits of CR employees will be affected if they are unhappy with the change. Linda Rice of the University of Kentucky Clinical Research Development and Operations Center (CR-DOC) says they tried to make the merger of two research units as smooth as possible. A retreat was one of the steps taken by Rice to address the concerns of the merged staff.
