Suggests that the specificity of research knowledge of learning disabilities suffers from its detachment from the textured perspective of the practitioner. Impediment to the orderly accumulation of knowledge involving research and practice; Tendency of the researcher to select samples based on educational diagnosis; Dilemma of restrictive versus ambiguous definitions.
