LTE vendors seek greater network automation

The article focuses on Fourth-Generation Long Term Evolution (4G) (LTE) networks. According to Yan Hui of AirHop Communications, LTE network will not become a macrocell-dominated network. In terms of the expense necessary to build the network and manage interference, such a deployment scenario can make all kinds of chaos for an operator. In response to this, the Third Generation Partnership Project (3GPP) has come up with the notion of self-organizing network (SON) features.
