The article informs that Patrick O. Brown, a Stanford University biochemist, who invented the DNA microarray and launched a free, online scientific journal called the "Public Library of Science" (PLOS), wants to put an end to animal farming because of global warming . According to the Food & Agriculture Organization of the United Nations, livestock accounts for 37% of human-caused methane and 65% of human-caused nitrous oxide.
