ABSTRACT
The article presents information on Richard Elman, commodities trader and founder of Noble Group Ltd. Earlier, Elman ran Phibro's Southeast Asia business from Hong Kong and started its China business. It is stated that now he has recreated Phibro's business in Asia but has modernized and globalized it, mirroring the changes in the global economy. Noble owns coal mines in Australia and uses its shipping business to send the coal to customers in the U.S., Europe and China.
