ABSTRACT
This letter presents the experimental results of self-pumped phase conjugation (SPPC) in barium titanate (BaTiO[sub 3]) crystals doped with Rh or Ce. It has been shown that the main parameters of SPPC depend very strongly on the concentration of dopants, the incident angles, and the cut type of the crystals. Some qualitative explanation of the experimental results are also given. © 2001 American Institute of Physics.

Abstract. A pentagon-shaped undoped BaTiO[sub 3] crystal was used to construct a high-quality mutually pumped phase conjugator. It yields two very stable phase-conjugate outputs (+/- 1.7% fluctuation in intensity) with high reflectivity (the highest approximately equal to 45%) when the two...

We found that the formation of self-pumped phase-conjugate mirrors (SPPCM) in photorefractive Bi[sub 12]TiO[sub 20] crystals under external alternating electric field is accompanied by strong enhancement of spatial subharmonics.
