The article reports on the structure of marine insurance and reinsurance markets in Brazil. The U.S. Central Intelligence Agency's (CIA) World Factbook 2009 reveals that the country may represent more than 40% of the written premiums in the region, and its exports of all kind of products are growing. Brazilian insurance regulator Superintendencia de Seguros Privados (SUSEP) shows that the country's 2008 marine insurance premiums reached 1.2 billion dollars.
