ABSTRACT
The article discusses the economic aspect of the arts and crafts industry in the U.S. Vanguard Mutual Funds chief executive officer John Bogle pointed that agriculture and manufacturing create the real wealth that is the economic foundation. However, the financial crisis has been a lesson in how precarious paper wealth becomes when it is too abstracted. In addition, the arts and crafts movement's whole reason for being was a reaction to the debased economic condition of the industrial world.
