ABSTRACT
The article reports on the aim of Verizon Communications Inc. to produce a fiber-optic (FiOS) television (TV) and internet for the homes and small businesses in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and to compete with Comcast Corp. The telephone company will start door-to-door marketing and will print advertisements on "The Philadelphia Inquirer" and the "Philadelphia Daily News" on FiOS. It adds that Verizon will give a 150 dollar Visa gift card for those who sign the service before December 19, 2009.
