Marketing the New-fashioned Way: Connect with your target market through social networking sites

The article focuses on several social networking sites as an effective marketing tool for businesses in reaching with their target markets. It notes the report published in May 2009 by the Financial Planning Association (FPA), Online Marketing Methods: Planners Best Practices, which found 60 percent among financial planners that averages 16 or more online opportunities have employed social media. Social networking sites such as Facebook, LinkedIn, and Twitter have allowed planners to interact with more people in a shorter time than face-to-face meetings. Facebook is ideal for planners with a large social networks and clients that offer a customized personal profile. The other two sites have similar feature with Facebook but LinkedIn was design solely for business professionals.
