ABSTRACT
The article reports on the disapproval of the World Tourism Organisation to the increase in the government's Air Passenger Duty (APD) scheme in Great Britain. Organisation secretary Taleb Rifai stresses that the proposed increase is a discriminatory tax which discriminates developing nations and islands that are dependent on tourism. Moreover, chief executive officer (CEO) Peter Long of TIU Travel PLC urged the government to suspend the further increases in APD.
