ABSTRACT
The article profiles Stan Miller, a sound engineer and pioneer of digital sound system. He was born in Nebraska, his father was in the agriculture business and his mother was a teacher. He was one of the first to hang speakers, through a steel cable/drum winch system he made and the first to use multi-core snakes for easier cable hook-up. He was the first to take a graphic equalizer with third-octave Altec passive filters. Artists and bands that Miller had worked with are also mentioned.
