ABSTRACT
The article provides a brief highlight of the political risk, economic risk and business environment in Laos. It states that Thai gamblers moving to Laotian casinos after the appointment of Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra as Cambodia's economic adviser. Finance Minister Somdy Douangdy explains that the country posted fiscal deficit of 0.4 billion U.S. dollars in 2009 due to the damage of Typhoon Ketsena. Unittel, modern mobile service is launched with goal of reaching 25% market share in 2010.
