ABSTRACT
The article presents the economic outlook for the commercial banking in Thailand. Business Monitor International Ltd. (BMI) predicts that Thailand's commercial loans would increase in 2010. BMI also estimates the country's gross domestic product (GDP) growth to reach 3.6% in 2010 from -3.1% in the previous year. In addition, BMI believes that the banks have enough capital to manage the growth in non-performing loans (NPLs) over the next few years.
