The article offers information on the progress and challenges faced by the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) in key areas of maritime, aviation and cybersecurity in the U.S. It states that DHS is responsible in securing the nation's transportation and information system. Moreover, the Government Accountability Office (GAO) has indicated that DHS has failed to satisfy its key responsibilities for protecting the nation's computer-reliant critical infrastructures.
