ABSTRACT
The article reports on the financial performance of several companies in the U.S. in the third quarter of 2009. A.M. Castle & Co.'s third quarter net loss reached 6.3 million U.S. dollars while its net sales totaled 184.0 million. Metal USA Inc. posted a net loss of 1.8 million dollars and net sales of 255.4 million dollars, a 58.7% decline from the same period of 2008. Moreover, Olympic Steel Inc. posted net sales of 121.6 million dollars and a net income of 671,000 dollars.
