ABSTRACT
The article reports on the base pontoon of the technologically advanced floating dry dock which has been delivered by the Western Australian shipbuilder Strategic Marine to the Australian Marine Complex (AMC) at Henderson, south of Perth, Western Australia at the end of 2008. Upon delivery of the dock, AMC has reportedly been the first in the world with a newly developed digital memory to give AMC a fully automated capability. The smart technology developed by Californian company IDAC allows the AMC to bid for a range of construction and repair projects.
