ABSTRACT
Discusses the novels and short stories of Rudy Wiebe, a Mennonite from western Canada. Wiebe's work is challenging, not the least because of its insistence on retaining a Christian world view in a nonironic way. Struggling to rid himself of the minority writer label that he is often given, Wiebe has written seven novels since 1962. He has also addressed from his Christian perspective such 20th-century problems as the military buildup.
