ABSTRACT
The article provides information on tooth enamel, the hardest substance in the human body. It states that tooth enamel, with enough saliva and fluoride intake, can help protect the teeth against the abrasive acids and chemical mix from food and water. The functions of saliva are described. Causes of dry mouth are discussed. Solutions are also included, including fluoride treatments and sugar-free gum sweetened by a sugar substitute.
