ABSTRACT
The article discusses the importance of using of ballistic spectacles and goggles during military training and combat operations. Statistics from the Office of the U.S. Army's Surgeon General showed that eye injuries represented almost 16 percent of all injuries in Iraq and Afghanistan from March 2003 to March 2005. The first patterns of protective glasses were adopted by the U.S. Army in 1994. Details of the tests made on several protective glasses are included.
