ABSTRACT
The article presents the report from the U.S. Commerce Department concerning the condition of the country's retail sales in 2009. Reportedly, retail sales in September 2009 posted a 1.5% decrease to 344.7 billion dollars on a seasonally adjusted basis, while retail sales excluding automobiles rose 0.5% to 288.5 billion dollars. Further, the country's retail sales in August 2009 were originally reported a decreased of 2.7%, while excluding automobile sales rose 1.1%.
