ABSTRACT
The article focuses on the study done by the Government Accountability Office (GAO) to determine the status of the U.S. Visitor and Immigrant Status Indicator Technology (US-VISIT) program of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS). The program is intended to control and monitor the entry and exit of foreign visitors. It discusses a framework provided by federal statutes to develop and deploy the entry and exit capabilities, and various processes of entry and exit supported by the program.
