ABSTRACT
the article presents a panel discussion on new products in the optical consumable category. Included are Al Bednar of Practical Systems Inc., Sylvia Sadofsky-Saavedra of DAC Vision, Steve Schneider of Satisloh and optician Russell Gagain. Bednar believes the trend has been to promote shorter cycle times for fining and polishing. The introduction of the Accelerated Cycle Time (ACT) process by Satisloh is discussed, as well as the importance of what happens to the lenses once they leave the lab.
