ABSTRACT
The article highlights the study conducted by the U.S. Government Accountability Office (GAO) on the challenges in implementing the Federal Land Transaction Facilitation Act of 2000 (FLTFA) in the country. It notes that the act enables revenue to increase from selling lands from the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) to the agencies which can create significant land management problems. To acquire land, it stresses that the agencies can nominate parcels under state-level interagency agreements.
