The article discusses the leadership development gap between charities and the public and private sectors in Great Britain. According to Dame Mary Marsh, founding director of the Clore Social Leadership Programme, the private sector has always invested in leadership development while the public sector has put a huge amount of investment into it during the past years. She warned that leadership skills were boosting the agenda of donors, with financial implications for charities.
