ABSTRACT
The article reports on the views of Wei Jaifu, president and chief executive officer (CEO) of China Ocean Shipping Co., regarding prospects for global economic recovery and strong growth in 2010. Wei believes that the worst of the economic crisis has been over and 2010 brings hope, in his prediction of a V-shaped recovery. He also shares his views regarding the operational state of his company and the shipping market in general. To protect the interest of the shipping industry, Wei believes that collaboration between shippers and ship owners is needed.
