The article reports on the plans of Northeastern Natural Energy and Metalmark Capital to pursue natural gas, drilling and exploration deals in the Pennsylvania, New York and West Virginia areas in 2009. From 2005 to 2009, Northeast Natural Energy founder and president Mike John oversaw the activity of Chesapeake Energy in the Marcellus region. However, MetalMark has entered into a deal to buy a Gastar Exploration gathering system in Texas exploring for natural gas. Also reported is Investcorp's acquisition of Middle Eastern gas firm Gulf Cyro.
