ABSTRACT
The article reports on research by Leeds University Business School for the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD) on outsourcing opportunities for human resources (HR). Of the 315 organizations surveyed, 29% were outsourcing HR, with 7% saying that outsourcing has been a success. It was also found that HR was not sufficiently involved in the outsourcing decision process. Although outsourcing is allegedly still a minority interest, Vaniessa Robinson of CIPD predicts that this will improve, particularly in the public sector.
