ABSTRACT
The article reports that the average rate for a 30-year fixed-rate mortgage in the U.S. fell to 4.91%, compared to 4.98% the previous week. According to Freddie Mac that rate represents the lowest seen in five weeks. For 15-year fixed-rate loans the average rate declined to 4.36%. The rate on a one-year U.S. Treasury-indexed adjustable-rate mortgage fell to 4.46%.
