ABSTRACT
The article focuses on a study by the U.S. Government Accountability Office (GAO) on the initiatives of the Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention (OJJDP) to assess the effectiveness of girls' delinquency programs and consistency of the initiatives with generally accepted social science standards. The study compares the initiatives with criteria in the Standards for Internal Control in the Federal Government. GAO recommends the development of a plan for delinquency programs.
