Keegan: Innovation helps fend off recession

The article discusses the views expressed by Robert Keegan, chairman and chief executive officer (CEO) of Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. during the Tire Society's annual Meeting and Conference on Tire Science and Technology held in Akron, Ohio. Keegan said that fear and uncertainty are common byproducts of the recession and strong leadership is the first step in addressing those symptoms. Keegan focused much of his speech on innovation, which he said can not happen without risk or discomfort.
