ABSTRACT
The article reports that Plymouth, Michigan-based MMI Engineered Solutions is focusing on niche production of 5,000 to 10,000 pieces where it can use its specialized engineering and composite skills for getting new business. Principal Thomas Elkington said that MMI visits its customers at least every five years to understand what they are doing and where MMI can make a difference. About 90 percent of the company's new business is developed through its own engineering and contacts.
