The article reports on the benefits of the recession to organizational development (OD) professionals, according to David Stephenson, group head of OD at Royal Mail. During the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development's (CIPD) OD conference on September 24, 2009, Stephenson said that pressures on costs were offering opportunities for OD professionals to make changes and learn lessons about their companies. He also outlined the changing role that OD has played at Royal Mail during his seven years of service at the company.
