ABSTRACT
The article focuses on Patomak Partners, a company co-founded by former global chief of compliance for The Carlyle Group Ralph Mittl, which aims to provide compliance-related advisory services to private equity (PE) firms. Mittl claims that the financial scandals involving Bernie Madoff and Allen Stanford has given the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) the power and resources to open more inquiries, and to revise rules that require sponsors and PE funds to register with the agency.
