ABSTRACT
The purpose of this study is to learn about communication apprehension by determining if discrepancies between the way an individual views themselves and the way in which they perceive others to view them leads to higher communication apprehension. This research supports the hypothesis that individuals who show discrepancies between their personal and relational identities will have high communication apprehension. This discovery offers a better understanding of communication apprehension, allowing for more knowledgeable ways to help individuals who experience such apprehension. ..PAT.-Unpublished Manuscript
