ABSTRACT
This section offers labor laws-related news briefs in Great Britain. The Employment Lawyers Association has argued with the introduction of fit notes, which is set to replace the sick notes in 2010 and encourages doctors to determine if employees are fit for some work and to suggest workplace adaptations. The Indiana Court of Appeals has ruled that Boston's Gourmet Pizza has to pay the gastric band surgery of overweight employee Adam Childers, who has undergone a back surgery after he was struck by a freezer door at the restaurant.
