ABSTRACT
The article reports that the Burton Corp., the leading manufacturer of snowboards in the world, has shifted from using UNIX to SUSE Linux Enterprise Server from Novell, a company based in Waltham, Massachusetts. The switch aims to boost system uptime and lessen server-related costs by as much as 80 percent. Mission-critical systems moved to Dell servers include Business Intelligence, Enterprise Portal and Customer Relationship Management.
