ABSTRACT
The article reports on the significance of the compulsory liability insurance to the motor insurance in China. Wenli Yuan, senior analyst at Celent China, said that motor insurance is the key business driver in the country's nonlife sector which gives more than 70% of nonlife premiums. He adds that despite the no profit, no loss principle of the liability insurance, its introduction is useful to the motor insurance because it allows motor insurers to cross-sell other insurance products.
