The article looks at the opportunities presented by snow and ice management to truck equipment distributors amid the decline in the sales of new trucks. Sales of salt and sand spreaders are said to be stabilizing given the preference of many customers for old trucks to be installed with new spreaders. It attributes the good performance of the snow and ice control industry during the economic downturn to its dependence on nature. Distributors are advised to employ an active approach to make sales since customers are not always easy to find.
