Eaton uses stimulus funds for milestone commercial hybrid vehicle deployment

The article reports on the announcement of the plan by the truck and electrical businesses of Eaton Corp. to support a 45.4 million U.S. dollars in grant to produce plug-in hybrid electric power systems for 378 vehicles in 2009. The funding is said to be part of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act grants from the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE). The firm intends to work with one of the grant recipients, South Coast Air Quality Management District (SCAQMD). Among the firms that use delivery vehicles with Eaton hybrid systems are FedEx and UPS.
