ABSTRACT
The article reports on the decline of inflation rate in Hungary. It notes that the 5.0% inflation rate in August 2009 falls from 5.1% in July 2009 due to the easement of food and utility prices and its target inflation rate at the end of the year is 2.0%. Hungarian Central Statistical Office shows that the retail price decreases by 2.4%, the industrial output falls by 19.4% and unemployment rate was 9.7% in July 2009. The National Bank of Hungary also shows a decrease in money supply growth.
